Wine Maker Notes
At elevations ranging from 1,400 to 3,000 feet and located at the base of Mount Konocti, once an active volcano, the Red Hills AVA features rolling hills, red volcanic soils, and a lake effect breeze from Clear Lake, one of North America’s oldest natural lakes. The fruit for this wine was sourced from several growing areas within Lake Countywhich resulted in a multi-layered wine with good balance and a long, lush finish. Aged for 12 months in Frenchand American oak, this wine has a bright garnet color. Aromas of black cherry, blackberry and oaky vanilla leadto flavors of ripe cherry, dark berries and spice.
