Mountain Door Cabernet Sauvignon 2014 |
Vineyards
Our estate vineyards are located in La Barrancas, Maipú, an Andean valley near Mendoza. Our Agostino estate is at 2800 feet above sea level. This vineyard grows on ancient glaciated soils of stone and gravel. These vines produce dark and deeply flavoured grapes we favour for our wines.
Vinification
Grapes are gently crushed, cold soaked for 72 hours and then fermented for 7 days with daily circulation to extract both color and flavor. After pressing, malolactic fermentation is completed while ageing on French oak (50%) and tanks (50%). The wines are developed and clarified in subsequent months of cellar age. Blending and bottling take place in the summer following harvest.
Color Deep red with violet highlights
Aroma Juicy plum and blackberries aromas, enriched with hints of vanilla and sage.
Flavor Fresh ripe blueberry with gentle acidity is at the core of this fruity, rich Cabernet. Soft, with great balance in the palate and round tannins. The beautiful balance carries through the long, delicious finish.
Pairing Enjoy our Mountain Door Cabernet Sauvignon with flavorful pasta and cheese dishes, grilled meats and, of course, empanadas.
