Barton & Guestier Chateauneuf-Du-Pape 2013 750ml

Barton & Guestier Chateauneuf-Du-Pape

This is a silky, ready-to-drink red. Cherry and plum fruit mingle easily with earth, leather and mocha, finishing on a softly dusty note.

Intense ruby color. Aromatic and racy, dominated by cigar box aromas, Virginia tobacco and cherry stone.Rich and concentrated on the palate, with intense mouth flavors and a long spicy finish.

Barton & Guestier has this year again well adapted its skillful winemaking techniques to the 1999 vintagespecifications. This consisted of pushing the extraction to the extreme on the Grenache. The Syrah gaverichness, flavors (spices, cherry) and structure. The wine has aged slowly for a period of nine months gainingmaturity. The result is a rich wine, intense in color, very aromatic with good structure.

This Rhône style pairs quite well with red meats, casseroles, grilled meats as well as hard cheeses likeAsiago or Reggiano.
