Each bottle of Casalone is blended from the finest grapes in Tuscany: sangiovese (70%) and merlot and cabernet sauvignon (30%); these are aged in temperature-controlled environment for eight to 12 months in French barriques. Slightly cloudy, garnet core with brick reflections and rim. Sour cherry, dried fruit, oak and some earthy notes on the nose. I tasted this wine after it has been opened for 4 hours. Dry, medium body, with silky texture, round tannins and sharp acidity. Flavors of sour cherry, unripe plum, licorice and oak. The finish is long with a fruity/oaky aftertaste. Well made baby Supertuscan
Love & Passion "Two very simple words that express my inborn passion for good wine and the constant desire to create something exclusive for others to appreciate. The optimum location and fertile terrain, suitable for cultivating valued grapes, as well as the panorama that appeared like a painting before my eyes, made me fall in love with Casali di Bibbiano and decide instantly to venture in its restoration. Today I am proud of which has been accomplished and the results attained, crowned with the production of excellent wines." -Alberto Guadagnini
Our family enjoys Casalone with a delicate first course, white meals and medium-aged cheeses; it is best served at 18 degrees Celsius (64.4 degrees Fahrenheit).
