Fresh and fruity aromas on the nose, with hints of lime, pear and green apple. The wine has a well structured and round body, enriched with lively acidity which gives length to the final. Great and persistent finish. Castel Vino wines have endless possibilities with what they drink well with. Great with ethnic cuisines: Pan Asian, Thai, Indian, Sushi and Fusion.
A little light for my taste. Not much body or finish, but easy to drink. Fine for sharing with friends on a summer afternoon. I'd rate this an 87 on my point scale.
Great value ... Nice pinot ... well balanced ... a little on the sweet side, I like that, wont score 92 points, but I will recommend this one anytime especially for that price..
Enjoyed it...glad to see it on sale!
Great white wine! Crisp and delicious, alone or with food. Great value also.
Pinot gris is a white wine grape variety of the species Vitis vinifera. Thought to be a mutant clone of the Pinot noir grape, it normally has a grayish-blue fruit, accounting for its name (gris meaning "grey" in French) but the grape can have a brownish pink to black and even white appearance. The word pinot, which comes from the word meaning "pine cone" in French, could have been given to it because the grapes grow in small pine cone-shaped clusters. In Italy, where the grape is known as Pinot grigio, plantings can be found in the Lombardy region around Oltrepo Pavese and in Alto Adige, Italy's northern most wine region. The grape is also prominent in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
