Deep red wine, well-balanced. It's a well-rounded wine, slightly tannic with a silky finish. Complex bouquet with hints of dark fruits and spices. This wine is full, unctuous and spicy, with an elegant finish. It goes well with red meat, lamb, beef casserole, stuffed vegetable dishes and cheeses.
Technical Notes Côtes du Rhône (English: Slopes or Hills of the Rhône) is a wine-growing Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for the Rhône wine region of France, which may be used throughout the region, also in those areas which are covered by other AOCs. In a limited part of the region, the AOC Côtes du Rhône-Villages may be used, in some cases together with the name of the commune. Red and rosé wines are made from Grenache Noir, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignane, Counoise and Mourvèdre grapes varieties. A maximum of 20% white varieties may be used in the rosés. All reds grown south of Montélimar must contain a minimum of 40% Grenache, and may contain up to 5% white grapes. A red from anywhere in the appellation must contain a minimum of 15% syrah and/or mourvedre.
