Vouvray is one of the oldest terroirs in France, located on the east side of Tours in the Loire Valley. It is known for its floral bouquet with wonderfully sensuous, waxy texture and complex flavor profile resulting from long contact with the lees in the aging process. Pierre Chainier is one of most respected wine producers in Vouvray. The nose reveals the characteristics of Chenin Blanc: floral (reminiscent of acacia) with ripe fruit aromas. Excellent minerality on the palate with notes of pear and quince, fresh almonds. A well-balanced medium-bodied wine.

Tasting Notes As a small appellation for white wine in the Loire Valley, Vouvray makes some incredible wine at affordable prices. Alluring aromas of white flowers, almonds, and pineapple dominate the nose of the Clos Palet. Nice crisp acidity complements minerality resulting in a balanced, flavorful wine. Enjoy this wine with shellfish, roast poultry, and salads. It's also great as a cocktail on its own.
