Notes on the Cantine Povero Barolo D.O.C.G 750ML 2009

Wine Review A delicious Barolo, affordable and priced fairly early still acceptable despite the exorbitant taxes levied in Brazil.

From their own vineyards in the communes of La Morra and Castiglione Falletto, matured 24 months in oak barrels and another 6 months in bottle, this Barolo boasts deep ruby color with orange rim, soft and pleasant aromas of raspberries and roses and taste compact concentrated. Opulent but with seductive style and beautiful end.

Ideal with meat cooked in wine at length, preferably Barolo (brasato al Barolo), roast lamb, good Parmigiano.

Technical Notes More than 150,000 vines over 140 km of rows in 45 hectares of vineyards of seven varieties of native grapes crossed at least 10 times in the yearly working cycle of the vineyard. 289 Mt of altitude in full sunlight from dawn till dusk: the ideal condition for a good ripening. Several varieties of soil ranging from mixes of marine sands with argillaceous marl, ideal for generating the typicality of the wines produced. Different microclimates: from the fresh breezes and spring rains to the hot humid summer, from the autumn mists to the snow of long winters when finally the vineyard can rest.
