Dow's old Tawnies are well known for their
remarkable raisiny, dried fruit flavours,
exquisite creamy texture and an exceptionally
long, lingering finish.
Dow’s Forty Years Old Tawny is made
exclusively from grapes sourced at “A”
classified vineyards (the highest), which
include Dow’s Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta
da Senhora da Ribeira, two of the very best
vineyards in the Douro valley. This enviable
position is reflected in the excellent quality and
consistency of the style evident in Dow's 40-
Year-Old Tawny.
| Tasting notes |
| This Forty Year Old Port is a wine of great rarity and quality. Forty years of
careful ageing in oak casks have brought this wine to perfect balance. This
wine represents the pinnacle of the Port blender’s art. Fine amber and tawny
colour. Complex aromas of nuts, raisins and vanilla explode from the glass.
On the palate hot, with predominantly flavours of dried fruits and walnuts, with
good acidity and an exquisite long finish. |
| Food pairing |
| Dow’s Forty Years Old Tawny will surely make any lunch or dinner a
memorable one. It is a fabulous accompaniment to dark chocolate, but can
also be enjoyed on its own - it is an experience in itself. |
