The roots of wines in Argentina come largely from Spain, which brought over viticulture during colonization. France also brought over Malbec grapes, which now make up most of Argentina's most popular wine. The high altitude and low humidity of its growing regions means Argentine wine does not face the same insect and disease problems as other winemaking countries.
