A good Bordeaux Blend allows winemakers to play cook with their recipes. The blend characteristically features mostly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes because there's nothing that goes better with wine than more wine. Many blends feature a variety of grapes and often include Petit Verdot, Malbec, and especially Cabernet Franc. Each bottle features its own unique proportion of grapes to play up or mellow out the features of the complementing grapes.

The grapes for the Bordeaux Blend come from the left bank or the right bank of the growing region. In a very West Side Story type of affair, the right bank is predominantly Merlot with a more juicy and smooth profile while the left bank is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon with bolder tannins and a peppery notes. Which side of the port will you choose?

Although the blend is characterized by its grapes from the Bordeaux growing region in France, let your taste buds get a little exotic. We carry blends from all over the globe, including Italy, Israel, California and South Africa. Wines from the Bordeaux region are typically red, there are some white Bordeaux Blanc blends. These light blends include Muscadelle and Sauvignon Gris grapes to produce a sweet golden dessert wine or a citrusy, fresh and fruity blend.

Much like the taste profiles of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon that make up our Bordeaux Blends, this collection of red wine typically has a medium to full body with flavor profiles that include everything from dark berries to baking spices and vanilla. We recommend gilled dark meats and roasted vegetables to bring out the best in this red wine. Sip it slowly or wash down your day with a bottle of Bordeaux.
