Ouzo is one of the National drinks of Greece. It can be served before meals as an aperitif or after meals. When served on ice, it is very refreshing and a wonderful quencher. It is distilled from seven carefully selected herbs which have earned an international prize winning quality.
On the nose, anise, pure and simple. Palate entry is sweet and soft considering the alcohol level; by midpalate the sweetness becomes more pronounced as the anise settles back a bit; the texture is rich. Finish slightly prickly on the tongue but delightful.
