This blend provides a spicy, fresh and fruity wine that has a ruby red color and good intensity – dominated by aromas of red fruits (strawberry, raspberry) and spices. The nose carries through to the palate, adding graphite and violet notes, and a lengthy, focused and juicy finish.
Situated on the right bank of the Rhone River, the vineyards are part of the 25 villages where the AOC “Cotes du Rhone” was born. The grapes for Cachette are sourced from a vineyard with soil comprised of gravel and pebbles high atop one of the sunny slopes surrounding the castle of Gicon, which dominates the Rhone valley. Sixty percent of the grapes undergo traditional vinification, with twelve days fermentation at controlled temperatures in stainless steel, while ten percent sees carbonic masceration.
This wine is ideal to serve with lamb, barbecue and spicy foods.
