The vinification takes place after 24 months in barrique barrels for malolactic fermentation and then 12 months refinement in bottle. The Pentro expresses the strength of a modern wine quality in a territory that best suited for it.This excellent red wine is the result of a permanent research and engagement, and it takes the significance of the history, traditions and expertise of an ancient population with it, the Pentri, who, as this wine itself, shaped the strong identity of this country, which remains still largely undiscovered.
Though young but of a glorious past, this DOC Pentro, has already been captured on its debut by the attention of the best wine Guides and also of renowned audience, not only because it bears the name of the country of origin, but also because it communicated its true special features and uniqueness. Filled in bottles for the first time late in 2007, it means more than twenty years after the first approval of the DOC designation, actually it has become a real cult and contributes more and more for the reputation of this amazing Italian wine region.(55% Montepulciano/45% Sangiovese) Fruit from 30+ year old vines planted on medium textured, calcareous stony soils was vinified in stainless steel. Malo and aging occurred in new French oak barrels for 24 months.
