Capbert Gasqueton have around 33 hectares of vines in St-Estèphe, comprising, 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 31% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. The estate occupies similar terroir, and is under the same ownership as its more famous neighbour, Calon Segur.
Dark and earthy, this is typically firm-textured St-Estèphe. The palate has plenty of weight and power, but is nicely balanced, with savoury tones accompanying the ripe bramble fruit. Drink now or cellar for 2-3 years.
