1989 is exceptional because with war raging around them, winery was hit on several occasions & deep cellars used as air raid shelters
P&P; Perfect in Rhone Tumbler; beautifully pale garnet w/cognac amber rim; attractive fragrance of cured-meaty sour cherry, finely leathery framboise on entry, along w/exotic camphor-sage + touch of kirsch sweet-spot in mid. & single bush Oolong tea on edge
Exquisitely Mediterranean delight yet structurally balanced mouthfeel + roundly subtle tannin & lingering end.
Wonderfully savoury nose. Burnt match sticks, autumn leaf + a fair bit of mustiness showing its maturity.
The palate continues the theme of evolved savouriness + brings further spice + delight. Aging brings a delicateness that young Musar's show no suggestion of developing. I love how this wine transforms over the years.
