Bright red cherry with a crimson hue. Aromas of black cherry, gentle toast and wild herbs prevail with a strong sense of the forest. Lovely ripe flavours of black cherry and red fruits are balanced with fine velvety tannins and a hint of dry earth. Long, soft, fine grained finish. Pair with duck dishes.
From the old, stony soils of the higher terrace on our Te Muna Road Estate, this vineyard is planted with eight clones of Pinot Noir in more than 40 different parcels. From this melange of parcels, the grapes are hand-picked and fermented with indigenous yeasts before spending 8 months in small French oak barrels without racking to produce our Te Muna Road Pinot Noir – a dark and brooding wine with a silky layered texture that provides interest and complexity.
Deep red in color with prominent aromatics of black cherry and boysenberry overshadowing subtle notes of rose petal, bark, and a hint of fresh mint. It is rich on the palate showing fine oak and intriguing mushroom while soy and dried herb flavors provide complexity to the sweet dark fruited core of this wine. The finish is long and lithe.
