The De Martino family came from Italy to Chile in 1934 and settled in Islade Maipo (D.O.Maipo). Today, having achieved 80 years of winemaking history, the winery combines the experience of the family's third generation – represented by Pietro, Marco and Remo De Martino - with the dynamism and vision of the well-established fourth generation, where Marco Antonio and Sebastián De Martino, together with the winemakers Marcelo Retamal and Eduardo Jordán, are leading the way with the winery’s new projects.
De Martino’s grapes are always harvested manually. They use only indigenous yeast for fermentation which is strictly controlled and carried out in stainless steel tanks. The grapes undergo just a short maceration to preserve the eventual wine’s delicate colour. The wine is then aged for 6 months in stainless steel before bottling.
This is a pale Cinsault with delicate red confit fruits, notes of garrigue herbs and the merest whisper of pepper. Agreeable medium-bodied rose that is at its best when served lightly chilled. This wine is a good match for turbot and razor clams or indeed any of your favourite seafood.
