The bright deep garnet-red color opens up to an expressive nose in which the scents of red and black fruits combine with notes of ripe pepper. The palate with a soft attack offers a soft and fleshy substance, with fruity (blackberry) aromas that coat structured but mellow tannins and persist in a long and harmonious finish. Very beautiful Saumur Champigny.
This Pouilly-Fumé is from the estate of Didier's father, Jean-Claude Dagueneau, and comes from vineyards right next door to and interspersed with those that produce Silex and the other great Didier Dagueneau wines. How do the quality, complexity and sheer breed compare?
