The Gamay grape is used to make all red Beaujolais wines. Only manual harvesting is allowed in the Beaujolais region. Handpicking means that before being fermented, entire bunches are sorted to remove any inferior grapes. In France, this winemaking method is specific to the Beaujolais region, and Domaine du Gueret has a particularly deft touch with Gamay.
A rush of sweet black cherry and black raspberry with hints of peach, violets, roses, and a finish of peppery spice; this wine is sure to delight and please.
