Domaine Faiveley Pommard Les Rugiens 2014
Pommard is one of the very first appellations of Burgundy 1936 and for long stood as standard that all other Burgundy was compared with.
Lovely pomade from a less good vintage, full of black current, mushrooms, wet forest floor, a touch of tea leaves and bacon, medium body, round tannins, great acidity, well structured with a good finish.
Attractive example of Pommard. Fresh strawberry with mocha and brown sugar. French oak nicely balanced inside. Bright acidity and a lingering finish.
A real cherry bomb. Complex earthy nose filled with cherries, and an elegant silky palette. A great expression of Pinot Noir with some fruit but not too much. A great wine and value.
