At 6000 ft in elevation, the Don Rodolfo vineyards are tended in an area where warm days and cool nights allow the grapes to fully ripen with excellent acidity and rich aroma and flavor. While the Viña Cornejo Costas estate is the oldest winery in Argentina’s Cafayate Valley, the future is bright when quality wines such as this are being produced.
This Malbec has pleasantly fruity aromas of plums and black currants with ample black pepper lurking behind. Although the fermentation is in stainless steel, there is plenty of depth and structure, with a smooth, easy-drinking finish that speaks to what Americans love about Argentine Malbec. Great on its own, but we recommend bringing this wine along to your next cookout. Also, plays well with lamb, roasted chicken, beans, and Mexican food!
