The Pintoage is a hybrid varietal created in 1920 at Stellenbosch University. It is a cross between a Pinot Noir and Cinsault (aka Hermitage). Drinking the Pinotage, you will get Pinot Nior to the nose with a rich, smooth earthy finish of mushroom, licorice and the terrior of South Africa. This rich and voluptuous Pinotage is alive with delicious sweet cherry and concentrated black fruit flavours. Hints of fragrant vanilla and muted oaky tones all contribute to this wine’s complexity. The finish is smooth and generous.
Cherry red. Aromas of cherry, banana, fresh cracked black pepper, plum and Band-Aid. Dry with silky tannins and red cherry flavors. Touch of spice and red bell pepper along with boysenberry and notes of dried strawberry. Peppery cherry finish.
