Four Vines Zinfandel Biker 2013
Medium bodied, light ruby colour, moderately fragrant (notes of plum, vanilla and chocolate), smooth, complex, flavour is reminiscent of other zinfandels (e.g. klinker brick), and mild tannins. 14.8% alcohol but doesn’t taste like it. Great wine for the price. I look forward to drinking it again.
What a pleasant surprise. This wine went from all spice to a beautiful balance of spice, fruit, oak and a nice clean dry finish. This wine drinks like a bottle twice the price! Once again Paso wines don't disappoint. Soft and distinct, this wine has strong plum and vanilla flavour with some baking spice. I can be sure which—perhaps nutmeg.
Right when the crock is pulled out, one can tell that spices will dominate this bold Paso Robles Zin. And indeed, that’s pretty much the dominant signature of this unidimensional wine. Nose is of jammy black cherries and prunes, spices (nutmeg and cloves), cocoa, coffee and some vanilla. The palate is medium bodied, dry with fine tannins and juicy acidity, releasing more flavors of spices, blackberries and tar. It finishes long with same nose and black pepper. This can be a versatile wine.
