This 2014 Estate g3 Red Wine Blend displays supple ripe flavors of plum and blackberry accented with notes of spice and vanilla and hints of black currant and Bing cherry. Exquisitely balanced, this blend has a lush, round mouthfeel and a long, lingering finish.
The fruit for this wine was sourced from some of the premier upper blocks of the estate. The 2014 vintage allowed for optimal, long hang time in the vineyard. The wine was pumped over twice daily until a balance of color, structure, and flavor extraction had been achieved. Malolactic fermentation on oak smoothed and softened the wine. The wine was allowed to mature and develop over 16 months in barrels. Mostly second or third fill barrels we used along with a small amount of new oak, the barrel program designed to provide structure while preserving fruit freshness. The blend was carefully put together to create a wine showing bright fruit, with balanced structure and smooth texture.
