Gran Duque d'Alba Brandy XO is dark with golden hues. oaky and sweet, full bodied and balanced blend of suggestive aromas and flavors make this drink a treat for your palate and nose alike. Old mahogany to ebony in color, very bright, intense on the nose with a hint of raisins, grape, plum and vanilla. Hints of antique furniture varnish characteristic of long years of ageing. Complex and majestic on the palate, at the same time both oily and velvety with an intense lingering aftertaste.Serve in a thin snifter at room temperature.A perfect combination of soleras of Gran Duque de Alba and Gran Duque de Alba Oro. Final ageing takes place in American oak casks which have previously aged Don Guido, a famed Pedro Ximenez sherry with a certified age of 20 years as guaranteed by the Sherry Regulating Council. The name Jerez, which is the origin of the english word ‘sherry’, identifies the region as the heart of the sherry-producing zone.A number of factors make Jerez suitable for the production of sherry. First and foremost, the soil has three variants, each imparting its own character to the individual styles of wine. The snow white 'Albariza', which is high in chalk and light in texture, produces the lightest styles of sherry from the Palomino grape variety. 'Baros' is high in clay with a little chalk, while 'Arenas' is sandy; these soils are best suited to growing Pedro Ximenez and Moscatel grapes.

Equally important is the climate, which is influenced by both the cooling effects of the Atlantic Ocean and the warmth that originates in the eastern plains. The moist winds from the sea bring the temperatures down – not only assisting in the preservation of vital acidity in the sherry grapes, but also providing natural air conditioning for local wine cellars. This contributes to a slow and gradual maturation of the wines. The 300 days of sunshine which the region receives on average each year are also important in terms of achieving optimal ripeness for the grapes.
