Vibrant and complex aromas of spicy, red berry fruit, cinnamon and clove spice. The same abundant, vibrant fruit is refl ected on the palate which also shows a hint of licorice, sweet cinnamon spice, and subtle cedary French oak.Separate parcels of fruit were fermented in American oak barriques and roto fermenters. The wine aged in new and seasoned French and American oak hogsheads. The wine opens with vibrant aromas of blackberry, blueberry, brown spice and light vanilla notes while the palate is layered with hints of violets, clove and ripe, juicy berries.

VINTAGE & VITICULTURE The Limestone Coast region of South Australia enjoyed an excellent 2014 vintage. One of the earliest and shortest vintages in recent memory, the fruit crop was of outstanding quality with depth of favors and concentrated color. A combination of very warm weather and below-average rainfall in the spring reduced grape yields across the board; even though yields were down the quality was exceptional. Reds—especially Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz—are showing excellent color, a balanced tannin structure and dense, concentrated favor.
VINIFICATION The fruit was machine-harvested at night or in the early morning, transported to the winery and sent directly to press. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties were kept separate in the winery until thefinal stage of wine blending. After destemming and crushing, all fruit was gently fermented for five to 10 days then pressed o skins before harsh bitter tannins are extracted into the wine. Ferments were racked o lees to complete malolactic fermentation in either stainless-steel tanks or in small oak barrels. After 24 months maturation, the individual wine components and barrels were tasted and selected through to be included in the final blend.

These evocative aromas of fragrant summer fruits lead to a soft, rounded palate. This medium-bodied wine is silky smooth and generous; showing its core of red berry fruits. The wine oers rfined, satiny tannins and an even rounded structure with excellent balanced acidity and well-integrated oak influences. This wine is a very supple Australian blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot of finesse and fine character.
