Located in the famous village of Pommard, Cote d'Or, Domaine Boillot is one of the leading producers in Burgundy. The estate vineyards are planted on various prestigious appellations such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chassagne-Montrachet, Meursault, Volnay and Pommard. On the palate it's bright, forward and zippy with lemon rind, delicate tropical fruit with a little oak age.
Very pale, bright yellow. Lovely hazelnutty reduction and minerality on the nose. A sweet, thick, almost creamy wine with serious palate presence but not outsized or clumsy. Plenty of oak spice showing. (Incidentally, Boillot's Bourgogne Blanc, a considerable portion of which was shipped to the U.S., shows an almost exotic character to its sweet, fat yellow stone fruit flavors leavened by a touch of savory minerality.)
Fat, good tension, lots of flavour already and more to come. Good stuff as usual from this impeccable source. Quite intense on the finish the ripeness of 2015 showing in the richness.

Sent the wrong year...
Wine Chateau sent 2015 J.M. Boillot Montagny Premier Cru, when I specifically ordered from them, because they had advertised it as 2014. I wrote to notify them of the mix up, but never heard back from anyone.
