The 2014 Chardonnay shows honeysuckle, a hint of pear and lemon zest. It is medium-bodied, fresh and lively with background oak. Drink it over the next 3-4 years.
This wine was barrel fermented in 50% new oak and 50% neutral, and stirred it up twice monthly right up until bottling. Only 50% of the wine went through malolactic fermentation - the result of which amounts to an opulent Chard with great mouth-feel, coupled with a streak of acidity to keep in all in balance. It's all citrus, bosc and green apple on the nose - followed by rich and full flavors of peach, pear, caramel and butterscotch, and then a really long, lingering finish.
