This medium weight Pinot Noir is rich with layers of bing cherries, rosehips, and lavender herbs. Its opulent richness will exceed your expectations--lingering just a bit until an inevitable smile appears.
Jekel was established in 1972 and began producing wines in 1978. They were one of the first to explore and unleash the winemaking potential of Monterey. The grapes for this Pinot were sourced from a site planted on an ancient alluvial plain and enjoyed the moderating effect of cool Pacific breezes, a key factor in this wine's balance. There's a wealth of dark and red berry fruit here as well as beet, herbs and spice tones. Juicy and elegant, this is a fine example of Monterey's excellent cool-climate expression.
