The 2014 Tiakka's Run Pinot Gris is perfumed with papaya, quince, and Moroccan mint combined with notes of wet stone and toasted almond. The palate is full and creamy, offering a delicate balance between kiwi, subtle spice, and juicy acidity.
Tikka’s Run Pinot gris is sourced from Wascher Vineyard, a lower elevation site and Chestnut Hill Vineyard, a higher elevation site. Both sites have very different microclimates and soil types which makes for unique growing conditions and distinctive wine characteristics. This wine has bright pear, peach and melon notes that go into a long, mineral and citrus-driven finish. A good fraction of this wine was barrel fermented, which rounds out the richness of the wine and brings it into balance with the it’s crisp, acidic backbone.
