The wine shows an elegant, deep color with touches of black cherry, and light oak aromas which will gradually recede. Typical Cantemerle flavors of spice, tobacco and black currant predominate. First impressions are firm and delectable; well-incorporated tannins and a fruity finish show pleasant freshness. A fine wine, pleasant, concentrated and elegant, reflecting the nobility of its terroir. With decanting it will be ready to drink in 2014, and will accompany poultry, meats and mushrooms. It has charm to spare.
OUR TASTING NOTES
Deep colour with peppery aromas and a fresh first impression. A lively finish on the palate and a good representation of this good vintage while aromas of tobacco and black currant give good expression to Cantemerle’s terroir. This wine is full of promise, and goes above and beyond what one might expect from a second wine.
Grape variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
