Les Fiefs de Lagrange is the second wines of Chateau Lagrange, the great third growths of Saint-Julien. The wine is made of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot & 7% Petit Verdot from 30 years old vines. The grapes are fermented with indigenous yeasts exclusively for 15 to 25 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and transferred to oak barrels(50% new) for about 20 months.
Raspberry and floral aromas follow through to a medium-to-full body, with fine tannins and a citrus fruit and blueberry aftertaste. Second wine of Lagrange. Bright dark ruby. Perfumed nose is dominated by black cherry and gunflint. Tighter than the Lagrange and currently less open to inspection, but offers good balance and intensity of raspberry and floral flavors. Finishes smooth and moderately persistent.
