The grapes for this wine come from old vines from the single vineyard "La Vinyeta Vella" which is planted on a hillside of pronounced slopes of 'Llicorella' slate soil at 350m above sea level. You can taste the chalky minerality layered among the rich fruit flavors.
This wine could age gracefully for a decade or more. The wine was aged for 15 months in new fine-grained, medium-toast French Allier oak barrels. This seven hectare property has been in the Ferrando family for 150 years.
