The source of this great wine comes from within the unique, walled vineyard of Clos Vougeot. The Cistercian monks enclosed the entire area many moons ago (work completed 1336) with a dry stone wall. Hence if a wine comes from this Grand Cru than it's from a highly defined & very limited amount of grape vine.
Marchand Tawse Clos Vougeot's version is a rich red packed with dark currants and cinnamon spices. Followed by mushroom and warm, earthy notes on the finish. It can age for up to 20 years too. Incidentally, this beautiful vineyard also has a rose named after it.
