Aromas of plum jam and mulberry fruit, with notes of clove and cinnamon spice. The palate is rich and round, with dark fruit characters and notes of violet. The wine has fine grained tannins and a lingering finish.Shiraz comes from Redwind Vineyards planted on red and black clay over limestone soil. The wine was 100% barrel fermented and aged for 14 months in American (80%) and French (20%) oak (65% new and 35% one year old).Shirvington’s 2008 Shiraz gives a deep garnet-purple color and intense notes of warm black cherries and black raspberries over anise, chocolate box, allspice and vanilla pod. Very full-bodied and concentrated with 16% declared alcohol, this is a big mouthful yet well balanced with crisp acidity and medium-firm fine tannins, finishing long.
