This Chard spent 50% in a barrel (20% new wood) and 50% in stainless steel tanks. The result is a balanced Chard devoid of oak choke yet with enough gumption to stop you in your tracks and ponder.
I sampled this at a group tasting which is always loads of fun. Feedback from participants was varied. One smelled Play-doh, another detected saline ocean breeze. I was enraptured by the beautiful golden color and super aromatics.
Nice priced (restaurant) chardonnay. Fresh and full body at the same time. Nice burgundy flavor.
