Dos Maderas Rum Px 5 + 5

The Dos Maderas (5+5) PX is a rum of Caribbean origin (Barbados and Guyana to be exact), which after first aging in for five years in American oak casks in the Caribbean, is then transported to Spain to spend an additional five years in Spanish oak (sherry casks). This additional aging occurs in two stages. First the rum spends 3 years in Palo Cortado sherry casks, and then the rum spends the final two years of aging in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. This three-step aging process is very unique and brings to the rum a very interesting new taste profile. Color - Dark amberBouquet - Rich with aromas of fig and raisin.Taste - Balanced palate accented with ripe fruit and tropical soice over a smoky oak and tobaccofinish, laved with hints of Sherry.Best savored neat or on the rocks. Pairs well with cigars and chocolate.First aged in oak casks for five years in the Caribbean (Guyana & Barbados) and then sailed across to Spain for an additional three years of ageing in casks that once held the internationally acclaimed “Dos Cortados” 20-years-old Palo Cortado sherry. Dos Maderas Rum PX then undergoes a third andfinal aging step when the rum rests for two years in casks that previously held Don Guido, a 20 year aged Pedro Ximenez sherry.40% abv
