The 1985 Ducru Beaucaillou is entering the tail end of excellent drinking. It's medium body, while not a powerhouse, has Plenty of brick on the edges. It presents florals, cedar, red and black fruits, and light leather.
A dose of elegance and cleanliness accompany this delicious shooting but fading star. A truly remarkable demonstration of ex chateau factor. So fresh yet fully developed, with loads of game, mint and cedar box on the nose.
On the palate it has depth and edges. Long finish. Freakin good wine. Despite being 30 years old its still young and fresh in taste, nose and structure. Superb balance.
