Initial damp leaves, opening up to notes of cherry, cassis, cigar box and a touch of anise on the nose... palette is much more earthy than fruity but definite underlying dark fruits with mild tobacco undertones ... medium to full bodied, so composed, fine silky smooth tannins... lovely!
The terroir is deep gravel. 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, 25% new French oak. Dark garnet color. Quite funky on the nose, blackberries with led pencil shavings and a hint of eucalyptus.
Ripe and brambly berry fruits with tobacco. Polished balanced integrated wine with medium to full weight. Excellent vintage with great tannins and length on the finish.
