An ultra-pure and fresh nose of green apple, spiced pear and citrus blossom gracefully slides into overtly stony and powerful broad-shouldered flavors that despite their significant size and weight, are crystalline in their transparency on the superbly long and well-balanced finale. This is most impressive and very clearly built-to-age so note well that this is definitely going to require some patience.
This Corton-Charlemagne is immediately distinguished and imperial. The attack is frank, direct and almost masculine. The mouthfeel is powerful, profound, filling and rich yet highly structured. It impresses with its density and its elegance. It is its long length that truly translates its Grand Cru character. The finish is persistent and saline. This wine demands patience and requires five to eight years to fully express itself.
