Bright medium ruby. Sexy spicy lift to the varietally accurate blackberry, licorice, violet and bitter chocolate aromas. A juicy, savory, nuanced midweight with dark fruit and licorice flavors complicated by a note of olive tapenade. Fully ripe but not at all overly sweet. Finishes with broad, smooth tannins and very good length. Very attractive wine.
Ripe, deep aromas of cassis and marzipan evolve to show minerality. A big, chunky palate features flavors of baked blackberry, cassis and chocolate, while a mild, somewhat languorous finish is chewy and leaves a lasting taste of prune.
