Country: United States
Region: California
Grape Varietal: Syrah
Type: Still wine, Organic
Wine maker notes
The 2001 syrah from this vineyard won ”Wine Of The Week” from the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, based on a blind tasting of ten different wines, whether those wines came from the ”Organic Wine” or ”Wine made from Organic Grapes” categories. It was the least expensive wine of the 10, and rated higher than Bonterra Cabernet and a well known Sonoma $40 zinfandel. This vineyard has unfolded over the years to produce a typical northern Rhone style Syrah-- solid color, nose and body, with earth and subtle pepper notes sprinkled throughout. What you won’t find is an over-the-top sugar added ”Aussie Fruit Bomb”, and as such this is a wine you can enjoy to the bottom of the bottle and is great with oily foods.
