Tasting Note:
Light yellow flows this Grosse Gewächs Escherndorf on the rags in 1655 from the vineyard Rainer Sauer into the glass. The bouquet is reminiscent of apricot, yellow fruit, pear, almonds, spices, hay and fresh herbs. On the palate at the beginning with a very strong minerality and freshness. In addition smoky, spicy, full and juicy. With a lot of fruit, good substance, pressure and always harmonious. Overall, very elegant and complex with a long fruity-mineral finish.

Note:
The vines for this Riesling from the House of Rainer Sauer grow in the VDP.Großen location Escherndorfer Lump in Franconia, There, on the shell limestone soils, viticulture is practiced for more than 1000 years. The vineyard is located directly on a loop of the Main River with southern orientation around the wine town of Escherndorf. This natural amphitheater forms the basis for the individual climate of the lump. Together with the slope, the natural protection against north and east winds and the heat-retaining Main, the grapes can mature optimally and fully develop their aromas. The winery Rainer Sauer grows there the two approved grape varieties Silvaner and Riesling . The grapes for this white wineare selectively and carefully read by hand at optimal maturity. The wines are vinified in stainless steel tanks under temperature control. The result is wines with a clear, varietal-typical aromas with a spicy-fruity note.

Food pairing:
Goes well with sturdy fish dishes, asparagus or pasta with fresh Provencal herbs.
