This wine is there take on the Nerello Mascalese from the young vineyards at Piano Dario, on the North-East slope of Mount Etna. There are ninety-eight terraces, surrounded by chestnut and downy oak groves, a typical biodiversity that gives the wines their personlity. Soft tannins, good drinkability and freshness. Aged in 60 hl rover barrels for 12 months, an ideal and non-invasive wood for Nerello.

This easy-drinking Mount Etna red has bright red fruit on the nose and palate, followed by lovely minerality and a dry, food-friendly finish. Comprised of Nerello Mascalese, it's a nice alternative to an Oregonian Pinot Noir — and excellent value for the money. Buy now, and buy often.
